IGNOU Regional Centre, Vijayawada has recently emerged as a new centre. The Regional Centre is headed by the Regional Director who is supported by a team of Academic, Administrative and other supporting staff. Regional Centre Vijayawada coordinates various learner support activities by providing academic and administrative link among the learners, the study centres and the University Headquarters.

Indira Gandhi National Open University established a Regional Centre at Vijayawada, which is an economically, culturally and politically vibrant town in Krishna District, Andhra Pradesh.
